I have been living and working in Carlisle for over 15 years.  I have raised a family with two children that have attended the local schools and are now in high school in Waterdown Ontario.  I can answer all your questions about living and raising a family in Carlisle and I can give you a huge head start to the world of homes in Carlisle. This is a very safe place where people walk their dogs, neighbours wave and children can roam free without fear of strangers.  We have loved living here and I know you will to.

Carlisle is a part of  Flamborough which is a part of the city of Hamilton Ontario.  The village lies about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) north of Waterdown, which is about a 7 minute drive.  There are just over 900 homes, including luxury homes and country homes, with a population just under 3000 people.  This is an old village with some historical homes and a church dating back to confederation.

The downtown of Carlisle is located at the crossroads of Carlisle and Centre Roads, which we call the 4 corners.  Bronte Creek runs through Courtcliffe Park and through the town.  There is a Community Centre which includes an ice rink, a park and tennis courts.  Downtown has a well-stocked variety store, LCBO and beer store, bakery and flower shop.  Across the street is an excellent local mechanic and garage.  We also have the Cascata Bistro which is an excellent restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.

We have two great golf courses - the challenging Dragon's Fire and the huge Carlisle Golf Club which also has an excellent restaurant and patio.  We also have an outdoor tennis club with 2 new courts and a new library.

Carlisle has numerous soccer fields, parks, baseball diamonds, and small forests but the main park is Courtcliffe Park.  Courtcliffe Park is a naturalized area with streams, bridges, walkways and trails with Bronte Creek running through which is well stocked with bass, trout, pike and other fish.  The rivers and the bridges were recently updated to keep the river flowing and healthy.  There are paved walking trails throughout the park with beautiful trees and wildlife.  The park is also home to extensive soccer fields which hosts the Dundas/Flamborough soccer leagues.  There is also a great playground and swings.  This is the place you're kids will play.

Two elementary schools serve the students of Carlisle, both of which are located at the intersection of Centre Road and Concession Road 10 E, just north of the town proper.  Balaclava Elementary School is a K-8 public school administered by the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Elementary School is a pre K- grade 8 catholic school and daycare centre. It is administered by the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board.

Upon graduation, students from these schools may go on to attend Waterdown District High School or St. Mary Catholic Secondary School.
